GALVESTON - A car matching the description of one that had just been reported to the Galveston police dispatcher as driving recklessly,  ran through a red light on Broadway at 51st Street and crashed into another car crossing Broadway with a green light.

The crash shortly after 2 o'clock this morning, claimed the life of of 34-year old Derrick Lee Castle of Hitchcock, one of the occupants of the car reported to police.

Witnesses told police the Cadillac in which the dead man was riding was driving east on Broadway, ran the red light and crashed in a Chevrolet Impala driving south on 51st St.

No one was injured in the Impala, but three of the four Cadillac occupant were ejected from the car.  They were tall taken to John Sealy Hospital where Castle later died.

The crash is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Galveston Police Department.
