SANTA FE, TX - A 28-year old Huntsville woman who investigators say was driving drunk or high on drugs, is in Galveston County Jail after causing an automoble crash in which a Santa Fe police officer was injured. Two passengers in the car with her were also jailed on drug charges.
Police spokesman, Sgt. Eric Bruss, said Jodie Ray Osborn turned her car into the path of the oncoming Santa Fe patrol car resulting in the collision. Patrol officer Edward Pean was treated for facial cuts and released from Mainland Medical Center Hospital in Texas City.
The crash occurred about 9:30 last night in the 12600 block of FM-1764. Bruss said Pean was not on an emergency call but was able to capture the collision on the dashboard camera of the patrol car.
Officers found marijuana and other drugs and drug paraphernalia in Osborn's car.
The arrested passengers were identified as Marcey Rene McLawchlin, 28, of Santa Fe and Michelle Ann Rice, 27, also of Santa Fe.
