LA MARQUE, TX -- Galveston County Sheriff's investigators charged two persons Monday evening following an investigation into illegal gambling.
Sheriff's Special Crimes investigators acted on information indicating patrons at the Lucky Mart convenience store in the 3500 block of FM 1765 in LaMarque were illegally being paid cash after winning games on "eight liner" video machines.
Detectives went undercover to confirm the information, ultimately receiving similar payoffs, according to Captain Barry Cook, commander of the Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division.
Agents from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and LaMarque Police worked with Sheriff's deputies when the arrests were made. A search warrant obtained prior to the arrests was also executed, resulting in the seizure of gambling devices, receipts, legers and over $24,000.00 in cash.

Ngan Kim Huynh (L), 33 of League City and Trong Ton Huynh, 37 of Friendswood were both charged with Keeping a Gambling Place.
They were being held in the Galveston County Jail in lieu of $1500 bond each.
