GALENA PARK - The body of a Houston man was found in an SUV after officers towed the vehicle from Fort Bend County to Galena Park on Thanksgiving, a law enforcement official said.

The death of Heladio Rojas Perales, 35, is being investigated as a homicide, a Department of Public Safety spokeswoman said.

Fort Bend Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Craig Brady said a landowner initially called the department to report an abandoned vehicle on his property, just outside Needville, earlier this week. The Galena Park police later realized the SUV was related to a missing-person report, and they arranged to tow it back to Harris County.
