Hello ministry friends.  :-)

A new door of ministry seems to have swung open for us today.  I received an email and followup phone call from Austin.

To try to keep this short...some of you may be familiar with an organization called Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.). www.nationalcops.org  Their ministry is to the survivors of Line of Duty police deaths...immediate family, extended family, police family.  There's been a Central Texas chapter formed recently that serves 31 central Texas counties. www.centraltxcops.org/

The upshot of the conversation was that we were approached to become the first Chaplains for this new COPS chapter!  :-o  (This is a volunteer position.)

We certainly are honored to be asked.  My first thought was, I think, to jump in with both feet -- with a little trepidation.  That was quickly followed by the "why not tos."  When I was out mowing this evening, I was reminded that "God doesn't call the equipped, but rather equips the called."

So, I said all that to get around to asking that you'd be praying with us for confirmation.  It would seem to be a logical extention or "next step" of our chaplain ministry to victims of sudden death that happen here in Llano County.  Our desire IS to minister to the law enforcement family.

We will be attending the next Chapter meeting which is scheduled in June to meet the rest of the team and see where things go.  The "door is open," I've "peeked in and said 'hello?'"  :-D   I just want to be sure this is HIS will.  They think it is.

Thanks for your prayers and advice.

Bill
